Official Websites Run By

Wrongly Accused Person

When miscarriages of justice occur there is often an official website set up in support of the victims of it. The internet has opened the door for these cases to be aired freely to anyone interested in the plight of any wrongly accused/convicted person and their families. When done correctly this can be a very positive thing for all concerned and increases public awareness of such occurrences. However for the families who are often left with this responsibility, it can be very time consuming which in the long term can reduce their abilites to do so while continuing with their everyday commitments.

With that in mind, we have decided to provide this service to those we feel have a compelling case of innocence to reduce the burdon the family and friends of those wrongly imprisoned.

Upon receipt of a request to manage an official site for a wrongly convicted person, we will first make contact with the subject of the intended site to ensure that it is done so with their authorisation (Normally these cases will involve an imprisoned person so the initial request will most likely have come from someone on their behalf). Once we have established that this is the case, we will make an assessment of their circumstances based on their individual circumstances as quickly as possible and providing they meet our criterea will set-up a site on their behalf.

At all times, page content will so far as is possible be provided by the wrongly accused to ensure that the official site in their name is as they wish it to be. Clearly there may be legal issues which need to be considered before publishing any content, or we may recommend rewording in certain circumstances to improve how their feelings and opinions are presented but ultimately our aim is for their site to be their site. For the most part we intend to be providing the necessary maintainance and hosting facilities involved while leaving as much of the decision making about their site to them.

All sites can include the option of visitors comments. If it is requested that this is available we will send any posted comments of support to the wrongly accused on a weekly basis so that they are kept informed. Any responses will be posted by us on their behalf.

This service as with all support offered by us is offered freely. Therefore it is necessary for site's managed by us to contain some advertising to assist in covering the costs incurred and each will contain a small reference to having been provided by us.

Anyone wishing to enquire about having such a site set up can do so using the contact page above by selecting 'official site request' as the subject of the message. When we receive your request we will reply requesting all necessary details to proceed as quickly as possible.

Site's are hosted on a subdomain (caseblog.wronglyaccusedperson.org.uk) and will be linked to directly from this site. This will help speed up your site's inclusion in search engines since they will be "spidered" by the likes of yahoo, google etc when they visit this site which they do daily. We would also advise that you post links to the site on any blog pages or social networking sites which permit it to increase visibility and attract attention to your cause.

The very first of such sites was published on the 24th June 2009 and can be viewed by way of example. Justice4Simon
